What is your suffering teaching you?

This weeks G4 Verse of the week is Deuteronomy 8:3. We’re all familiar with the last part of it because Jesus quoted it to Satan when He was being tempted in the wilderness. It’s the first part of the verse which provides the original context of the statement that gripped me this week. “And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know . . . “(Deuteronomy 8:3) What was it that God wanted to Israel to know? . . . that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” (Deuteronomy 8:3) Take a good look at God’s intended consequence of their suffering.
