I can’t help but think that God accepts an imperfect faith from many believers. Since I am still learning what it means to truly trust in Christ after years of theological training and ministry I have to believe that God is very patient with those who love Him because I know that He is patient with me. Scripture clearly teaches that it is by grace alone through faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone that a person receives the gift of salvation. See Ephesians 2, Romans 3, Galatians 2, John 2 and on and on.
